Waking Up

Growing up, I didn’t even know entrepreneurship was a choice.

After working for other people for a couple of decades, I suddenly woke up to the fact that my employers didn’t care about me beyond my ability to earn them money.

I decided I wanted my dedicated efforts to directly affect MY future, not just benefit someone else. I trusted in my work ethic. If I was going to fail, at least I would fail on my terms.

But how do you even start a business?

Trying to get answers to my business questions was nearly impossible. Instead, I found bad advice, partial information, and distractions.

The frustration I felt became the concept of what my own business would be.

I would use my special talent for learning, simplifying, and implementing new information to make starting a business easier for others.

They could focus on their craft while I would focus on learning and teaching them the universal concepts of scaling a successful business.

I became the entrepreneurial guide I wished I would have had when I left the corporate world!

My business was started!

In 2016 I started my consultancy, learning as I went.

I focused on practical solutions that matched the psychology of the business owner taking into account what they actually WOULD do, not just theoretical “best practices.”

(If my assistance didn’t help they wouldn’t be able to afford to keep me on as a trusted advisor for long! There wasn’t any room for error. Everything HAD to work.)

At first, I was only a few steps ahead of them on their journey.

Between consultations, I would voraciously learn so that by the next time we met I would have additional helpful information at my fingertips to solve their specific problems. I felt like Indiana Jones running in front of the boulder, just barely staying ahead of my client’s needs.
